Darryl is a Senior Lecturer and Consultant from the Software Systems Practice at NUS-ISS.
Darryl started his career as a software evangelist in the Air Force and has helped the organization in setting up the department's IT infrastructure, computer-aided instructions training. He has also help the organization developed a half-million project by re-engineered software from a text-based coding to a Windows-based user friendly graphical user interface based application that makes the programming job much easier and efficient.
With more than 20 years of industrial experiences in the different domains, he worked on numerous projects and helped the institution he had worked with to accomplish a positive differences on revamping the IT and application systems, adoption of software technologies and practices to enhance workplace effectiveness and efficiencies.
He has great passion and interest on the Internet of Things and Cloud architecture design, solutioning, and migration. He is also versed with Singapore government’s cloud infrastructure and architecture standard, i.e. Government Commercial Cloud (GCC) and Application Infrastructure Architecture Standard (AIAS) where he has done a couple of projects in delivering solutions that run on cloud. He is well trained on cloud native platforms, such as AWS, Azure and Google, so that he could continue to bring relevant to the education landscape covering cloud strategies, methodology, tools, migration and reference architecture.
In this exciting time where technologies are evolving rapidly, he strongly believes in seeding platform to thousands of technologists, students, startups, software developers and help them become successful. He lives to be a strong evangelist in continuous searching, discovering, adapting, innovating, transforming, leading and learning new technologies and advocate for education and technology training to bring the latest and more relevant IT and software knowledge and skills to enable the next-generation IT professionals towards Singapore vision of smart nation and digital economy.
